Nicole Carroll: A one woman mission to make a name in football

A game of tit for tat

If West Ham haven’t got enough problems of there own to sort out, The Guardian have posted a story suggesting that West Ham are going to submit a complaint to the FA following Roy Hodgson’s comments that he fielded a weakened team at the weekend to prolong his teams European campaign.

Earlier in the season, Mick McCarthy and Wolves were find £25,000 for fielding a weakened team at Manchester United. If West Ham want to complain about Fulham then that is there perogative, but with a prescedent being set of a fine, is there anything to be gained by West Ham for complaining? The FA aren’t going to take the points of Hull or add points to West Ham’s total, so I’m not quite sure what they are trying to achieve other than further column inches and trying to deflect the heat off a possible relegation and fire sale of their own squad come the end of the season.
